Some tips for reporting what’s going on in Congress:
— Look at congressional bills for things that seem out of place or coincidental.
— Research sponsors, lobbyists and contractors linked to members and delegates.
— Read lobbying records, hearing transcripts and congressional records.
— Investigate lawmakers’ personal finances, and their public and private funded travel.
— Take advantage of the Internet and such sites as thomas.loc.gov, the official Web site of Congress.
