Affordable Eatery Options

By Billy O'Keefe

Within a block of the Marriott, cheap options seem to be few and far between. Your best bet might be to stop by Sbarros for a quick slice of pizza before heading to the next journalism session. Prices start for a piece of plain cheese at $4.15.
Breakfast at Baja Fresh is also a good way begin your day. Prices start at $3.25. At Overland Stage and Territorial Saloon, the menu is a BBQ blend of goodness, and prices begin at $12.95 for a Texas-size meatballs with spaghetti.
If you have some cash to spend, try Morton’s. A three-course dinner is $60. Dinner includes a salad, main course of scallops, crab cake or lobster tail, with cake or pie for dessert.

Drinks, drinks everywhere
There is no shortage of drinks in every restaurant in the Anaheim Marriott.
Pizza Hut on site serves beer, according to Gustavo Rios, an employee at the restaurant for six years.
However, Degrees Wine and Patio Bar staff have a greater variety.
Goså Luis, an employee at Degrees for nine years, said the Anaheim Marriott has hosted the Excellence in Journalism Conference with the Society of Professional Journalists before, and says the group is, “always fun.”
In tribute, Degrees employees created a special drink called the “Writer’s Block.”
At $10, the Writer’s Block has Buddha’s Hand Vodka, Benedictine, Black Shrub and Pineapple.
The menu also has appetizers like lobster and calamari, lunch items such as burgers and barbeque chicken sandwiches and desserts with options like seven-layer cake.
Other restaurants in the hotel include Starbucks, Café Del Sol and the Market Place.
